Cross bearing fix

Take bearings of two or more known marks at the same time. The bearings are converted from compass to chart (°C → °M → °T), and where the position lines cross is your position.

How to do it

Tap Start cross bearing fix and enter your compass course steered (CC).
Click the mark on the map — a known seamark automatically gives name and position.
Enter the bearing in degrees and whether it is °C (compass) or °T (radar).
After 2 bearings your position is shown here — with the full calculation.

📚 Examples

The bearing tool is also available on the chart (the Bearing button in the Route tab), where the compass course can be taken directly from a leg of your route. Log in to save your bearings under Bearings.
